The Purpose (Reasoning & Justifications): To highlight the impact that the Hoops for Homes Basketball Tournament hosted by Derrick Coleman.

Target Audience: Community Advocates

The Key Message: The Hoops for Homes Basketball Tournament is more than just a game; it is to empower youths through community and building a community where they are supported and can thrive and prosper to reach their full potential.

The Goals:

  • Highlight Hoops for Homes’ impact.
  • Encourage community participation.

The Brand Voice & Tone:

  • The brand voice and tone for this Hoops for this Hoops for Instagram Facebook post is targeted toward the community advocates of Michigan by highlighting the importance of empowering youths through their communities. The brand voice for this post speaks directly to viewers by using an inspirational tone that would call to the community advocates of Michigan to help in supporting such a cause. This post would be especially effective in encouraging community advocates to act because it highlights the importance of a supportive community for youths.

The Theme:

  • The theme of this Instagram post primarily focuses on empowering youths through community. By highlighting the importance of community and supporting families and those in need, this post is designed to show community advocates that the Hoops for Homes Basketball Tournament aims towards creating a foundation and community where young athletes can experience personal growth and better their futures. This Post is calling on the community advocates to help in supporting and investing in the future of the younger generation.

Why This Post Matters (Reasons & Justifications): This post matters because:

  • Showcase Whirlpools Authenticity: This post can help to showcase Whirlpool’s role in this event, as more than just a sponsorship partnership, but as an organization that is truly dedicated to doing good and helping families and those in need. 
  • Highlight the Impact: This post was designed to highlight the impact of the Hoops for Homes tournament. The community advocates will probably feel more inclined to act if they feel that investing in this event will help to do good and give back. By highlighting the importance of supporting the next generation, community advocates will probably feel more inclined to act since they know they will be a good impact within their communities.
  • Create an interactive post that encourages engagement and participation (e.g., user-generated content, hashtag challenge, community stories).

The Purpose (Reasoning & Justifications): To encourage interactions and engagement from community advocates, with hopes of them wishing to take part in it.

Target Audience: Community Advocates

The Key Message: Will you be participating in the Hoops for Homes Basketball tournament to help support the next generation? If so, will you be there? Here is where you can register or learn more about our tournament.

The Goals:

  • Encourage social media interactions and engagement from community advocates.
  • Raise awareness about the Hoops for Homes basketball tournament.
  • Increase the Visibility of the Hoops for Homes Tournament on social media and attract the attention of community advocates.

The Brand Voice & Tone:

  • The brand voice and tone for this Hoops for this Hoops for Homes Instagram post is targeted toward the community advocates of Michigan and are designed to encourage them to take part in promoting the event by speaking in an empowering tone and encouraging them to act while at the same time highlighting the importance of the event.

The Theme:

  • The theme of this Instagram post focuses on encouraging interaction and engagement about the event. This post combines both interactive buttons and colors that align with the theme of the Hoops for Homes basketball tournament. Instead of just creating awareness about the event, it is inviting the targeted audience for this post to act and interact with it, while at the same time, encouraging them to explore and learn more about the Hoops for Home Basketball Tournament.

Why This Post Matters (Reasons & Justifications): This post matters because:

  • Encourage Interactions: Since this post is an interactive one, we can use it to better engage with the communities that the community advocates belong to. By including a poll in this post, we will be able to gain insight into how well this post is performing and be able to somewhat determine the level of awareness that is known about the Hoops for Homes Basketball Tournament.  
  • Can Build Community Relationships: Another reason why this interactive post matters is that it can help to build community relationships. The community advocates engaging and interacting with this post, means that they at least show an interest in the event. Additionally, Instagram stories such as this post are more personal than just a traditional post, which can help to build a stronger connection with the community advocates and connect with them on a deeper level.[i] Overall, this further proves why this post matters.
