  • For question #2, what did you do differently from the original post? Please outline, explain and justify what you changed & why. Essentially, what did you learn from this new topic and what did you change and why. (8 Marks)
  • Used the 5Ws:  In this revised version of my introduction for my business, I used the 5Ws, “Who”, “what”, “where”, “when”, and “why”. This can be seen throughout my introduction, where I explain what my business is about, what it has to offer, the shopping flexibility, and some reasons as to why some would want to shop at my business. The first version of my introduction for my business included too much unnecessary information, so when creating this revised version of my introduction, I made sure to emphasize the most important aspects of my business, such as the fact that it is an online store specializing in creating unique book accessories and book-related products.
    • Used the 5Ws – Reasoning:  I decided to change the information in my introduction to better align with the 5Ws because I realized that in my previous introduction that I didn’t include the 5Ws. This time around I made sure that I included all of the 5Ws to better ensure that my audience understood the “Who”, “What”, “Where”, “When”, and “Why” of my business, because this is the type of information they would mostly likely be searching for.
  • Used a Visual: In addition to incorporating the 5Ws of my business introduction, I also included a visual. As discussed in class, visuals are more effective than just text alone because they are easier to process and are also more memorable. Due to this, I also included a visual in my introduction using the F-Pattern because I believe it will help in leaving a deeper and more meaningful impression on anyone visiting my website.
    • Used a Visual – Reasoning: For the revised version of the introduction for my website, I chose to include a visual as well because I understand from the many class discussions that people can better process information that as a visual pared with it, which is why I chose to incorporate a visual in the new revised version of the introduction for my website.
  • Improved Readability: Using the F-Pattern, I also improved the readability of my introduction. After further discussing the F-Pattern in class, I realized that my introduction used too many paragraphs, so when creating this revised version of my website’s introduction, I opted more towards using bullet points to emphasize certain information and also used bolded text for any important headings as well.
    • Improved Readability – Reasoning: I chose to improve the readability of my revised introduction because  I realized that my previous introduction included too many paragraphs and didn’t make my introduction too readable, which is why for my revised introduction I made sure that the readability of it was improved and better aligned with the content on my website and also align with my audience as well.
  • Prioritized Key Information: In addition to improving the readability of my revised introduction, I also altered some of the information in my introduction to better emphasize the key information that I wanted my audience to read about. Instead of using many paragraphs like I did when I first created my introduction, the revised introduction I created in question #2 is more concise and relevant to the content on my website and also better emphasizes the key aspects of my website.
    • Prioritized Key Information – Reasoning: In my revised introduction, something I did differently was making sure to prioritize key information. In this revised introduction, I made sure not to sacrifice any of the key information of my introduction, such as what my business is about and the types of products it sells. I did this because I wanted to make sure that only the most relevant information in my introduction remained and that any other unnecessary information did not remain.
